Amifaith Fider-Reyes 82-A Diliman

Graduated from U.P. high '79, UP CAS Diliman (A.B. Political Science '83), and
UP Law (LLB '88). Passed the bar exam in 1990. Did a research Fellowship on
International Rights of the Child in London. Awarded with the British Council
Scholarship from 1992 to 1993... You are not reading a resume but a hors
d'oeuvres to a delightful entree full of Nuan flavor.
Amifaith Fider-Reyes, batchhead of 82-A Diliman, isn't your scholar stereotype.
Do away with the nerdy and anti-social ectomorph, and replace the image with a
tall, (signature) bob haired and oh-so-fair complexioned lady. Place her in the
golf course or set her in a gym. She'll make any snoot pay attention with her
wit and fine humor.

the Asilo Immaculada Concepcion

Rarely, do we find such a unique achiever, who not only exemplifies the Nuan
tradition of excellence but also perseveres to be of service - pro bono. As
incumbent President of the Inner Wheel Club of Cebu (IWCC), she is thoroughly
involved in civic projects. A firm believer in the justice system, our sis has
been a court attorney to the following justices of the Supreme Court -- from
Abraham F. Sarmiento, Flerida Ruth P. Romero and Jose C. Campos, Jr-- to Justice
Pacita Nye of the Court of Appeals. Amifaith also had a stint as a lawyer with
the University of the Philippines' Office of the Legal Counsel.
Students of The University of Asia and the Pacific and U.P. Cebu, College of
Arts and Sciences also had a taste of her teaching prowess. She
also teached Public Corporations at the University of San Jose Recolletos Law School
in Cebu.
Work with no play, makes Jane a dull lass. Who ever said focus and determination
takes away the fun out of life? On a boring day in February 2000, Amifaith
agreed to a blind date set up by a friend and that was how she met her match. By
December 2000, before the end of the Great Jubilee Year, Miss Fider became Mrs.
Jed Reyes. Married in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City, our brod (and
Amifaith's blood brother) Lito "gave" her "away" to be the BEST half of
Landbank's VP for Region VII.
induction of a new member into office

Her affiliation with SyCip Salazar Hernandez and Gatmaitan law firm ended after
she moved with her husband to Cebu. Amifaith was a Consultant of LIZA D. CORRO
and associates of Cebu before she was able to establish her law firm,PALMA
YBAEZ FIDER-REYES in Cebu. She is also Director of the Federacion Internacional
de Abogadas (FIDA) Cebu Chapter and FIDA National Vice President for Visayas.
What's a full course meal without dessert? How about being honored
as a candidate to the vacant posts in the Regional Trial Court of Cebu. As Amifaith
had said: "Yeah, I'm a believer. I want to be a judge." She is now a
Judge of Pampanga's Regional Trial Court.
Recently, she became a Fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar-460 on "New Models of Intellectual Property: Innovation and Openness as Spurs to Innovation," held at in Salzburg, Austria. This May 29 to 30, 2009, she will be a panelist in the 6th Asian Law Institute Conference in Hong Kong. The theme is "Dynamics of Change". My Paper is on “Issues concerning Alternative Modes of Dispute Resolution (Mediation and Judicial Dispute Resolution) in cases concerning violation of Intellectual Property rights in the Philippines".
Amifaith Sarmiento Fider-Reyes, a sumptuous blend of intelligence, wit, passion
and determination. Anyone for tea or coffee and petit fours?
